Light is very important in NYC interiors, especially in kitchens. Without adequate light, preparing food is difficult and the space is not suited to entertaining. This kitchen was totally unsuitable for gourmet cooking and the sink was much too small. When Runa Chi Novak was called upon to redesign a dark, dingy kitchen, she immediately replaced the existing window with a frame that matched the new, light colored upper kitchen cabinets. This, in conjunction with a designer tile backsplash, complimented the window area a lot better and brought light into what was previously an uninviting space. She also installed a new designer sink.
